NDRC: local energy consumption reduction targets to be announced to the public

According to the National Development and Reform Commission, the regional GDP unit energy consumption reduction target scheme during the "11th Five-Year Plan" period will be announced to the public. From 2006,  National Bureau of Statistics, National Development and Reform Commission and National Energy Office will announce the local unit GDP energy consumption status jointly to the public every six months. A mid-term assessment will be conducted in the year of 2008 while by the end of 2010 a terminal examination will be carried throught and the results will be announced then.
